Clayton NC Cancels Fourth Of July Fireworks... Saves Town $32,000.

Clayton NC, Cancels Fourth Of July Fireworks... Saves Town $32,000.
I commend the Town Of Clayton for making this unpopular decision, but it shows the town is being careful with tax dollars it does not have. Due to budget shortfalls the money was simply not there. It would have cost the town approx $32,000, a figure that could be used for many other purposes.
Fireworks last 20 Minutes and so that is not a good return on your investment. There is a wave of savings and coupon clipping and people tightening their belts across the country and it's good that towns and government are doing likewise.
Besides we still have this.
Kenly another Johnston County Town has also cancelled their Fourth Of July Fireworks

Portofino Equestrian Community, Builder Team Meeting and New Phase Started

Portofino Equestrian Community, Builder Team Meeting and New Phase Started.

There is a lot of activity going on at Portofino in Clayton, the magnificent development of beautiful homes on over 350 acres.
We held a Builder meeting at the Red Roof House (Inn) and we were shown the designs for the newest phase which started this week.
The Farmhouse homes were designed by Cider House Studio, Inc, the brother, sister team of Holley and Brandon Carpenter. they have created a great set of floor plans designed with the outdoors in mind. They have not been finalized yet and as soon as they are we will have them for you.

The Builder Services Team from Coldwell Banker HPW put on a great presentation showing us the plans and the new designs for the brochures and promotion of Portofino, the best kept secret in town until now!

Portofino has a Facebook Page...Take a look.
The roads for the newest phase were cut in and like everything at Portofino, because there is so much land and open space, the topography is quiet different out there. A huge canopy of old oak trees covers part of the entrance and rolling hills with big pockets of pine trees dot the landscape.

The opening date for the beach access pool is set for Memorial Day and Rob Baily the project manager has all the crews lined up to accomplish that.

So if you have not been out to see Portofino and you work in Raleigh or Research Triangle Park or if you commute for work, then you need to come see this beautiful development, there are only so many lots to be had and you will be pleased to see how close we are to all these places....And a mere two hours from the beach.

Raleigh, NC 2nd Fastest Growing City In America

CNN-Money.com has reported that Raleigh NC has had the second largest gain in population since the census of 2000.

Raleigh has had a bunch of accolades and awards bestowed on it recently and the 230,000 people who moved here in the last nine years probably heard of some of them.

Provo, Utah had a 47% growth in population and claimed the number one spot, while Raleigh's population gain from 2000 to 2009 was 41%.

There are many different groups making up the rise in population, retirees moving down from the northern states for a warmer climate, retirees moving up from Florida for cooler climates. Young married couples looking for great schools and affordable housing. Young single professionals drawn by the high-tech and bio-tech jobs and the major universities in the area. Raleigh was just named "Most Wired City" by Forbes Magazine, beating out Seattle, and San Francisco.

Raleigh is located a mere two and a half hours from some of the best beaches on the East Coast and is three and a half hours from the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains. The weather is mild almost all year round minus the few weeks of cold in Jan/Feb and yeah it gets a little toasty in Jul/Aug.
