Tralee is a subdivision between Smithfield and Clayton off Hwy 70  in Johnston County. Tralee itself has a fitness center, lap pool, and splash pool for the younger ones. There is also a separate fenced paddling pool.There are a couple of nice ponds in the neighborhood also. The homes in Tralee subdivision range in price from about the mid $140’s to the mid $190’s, there are a combination of two story and single story ranch plans available. For the year February 2012-February 2013, homes sold for an average of $89 a square foot, this was a combination of new homes and resales, new homes averaged $100 a square foot. Most of the homes for sale in Tralee are 3 bedroom 2.5 bath homes with two car garages and range in size from 1400 square feet to 2400 square feet.

The area where Tralee is located is about equal distance from Raleigh and Goldsboro about 30 miles, great for families who have jobs in both cities, which we see quite a bit of here in Johnston County. It is five minutes from Smithfield and about the same from Clayton. Schools are in the Johnston County School System and are currently Wilson Mill Elementary, Smithfield Middle and Smithfield-Selma High. There are quite a few large employers in the region, the largest being the school system and in Clayton there are manufacturing plants such as Caterpillar, Grifols, Novo Nordisk and many more smaller companies. Smithfield is home to Johnston County Community College and the Carolina Premium Outlets where hundreds of shoppers go every day to the outlet stores of J.Crew, Nike, Polo Ralph Lauren and many more.

Tralee is a Fred Smith Community which means residents can avail of the amenities in all of those communities, like Riverwood Athletic Club with it’s indoor swimming facility, Mingo Creek and LionsGate which has a lazy river and 150 foot water slide. Golfers can upgrade their memberships to include levels of golf play at Riverwood Golf Club in Clayton, Hedingham in Raleigh and Eagle Ridge in Garner.
